International Seminar Commemorating 60 years of EPGE

On October 21st and 22nd, EPGE promoted, via Zoom, the International Seminar Celebrating the School's 60th Anniversary.

The purpose of the event was to celebrate 60 years of EPGE. The first day featured lectures by alumni of our graduate program with outstanding academic careers and research at the scientific frontier. The second day had round tables with alumni of our program with a relevant role in the formulation of economic policies. The topics covered were: “Challenges to Brazilian Growth”, “ESG and Infrastructure” and “Challenges of Fiscal Policy in Brazil”.

The event was attended by a researcher who received the 2014 Nobel Prize in Economics, Professor Jean Tirole; Hoover Institution Professor, Stanford University, John Cochrane; the professor at the Université libre de Bruxelles, Mathias Dewatripont; and EPGE professors and alumni: Aloisio Araujo (EPGE Vice-Director), Ana Carla Abraão (Oliver Wyman Brasil); Bruno Funchal (Ministry of Economy); Carlos Eugênio da Costa; Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal (President of FGV); Cezar Santos; Cristiane Alckmin (Secretary of Finance of Goiás); Daniel Gottlieb (London School of Economics); Eduardo Azevedo (Wharton School); Felipe Iachan; Flávio Cunha (Rice University); Humberto Moreira (Coordinator of the Academic Postgraduate Course at EPGE); Joaquim Levy (Banco Safra); Joísa Campanher Dutra (Coordinator of the Professional Masters at EPGE); Leandro Gorno, Lucas Maestri (Coordinator of the Academic Postgraduate Course at EPGE); Luis Braido; Maria Silvia Bastos (Board member of Vallourec Global, Iguá Saneamento and Cataratas group); Paulo Klinger Monteiro; Renato Fragelli; René Garcia Jr. (Secretary of Finance Paraná); Roberto Castello Branco (Company Vale do Rio Doce S.A.); Rubens Penha Cysne (Director of EPGE) and Sérgio Werlang (Advisor to the Presidency of FGV).
