Conference: Social Security Reform: An Opportunity for Brazil

On 4 April, it took place the seminar "Pension Reform: An Opportunity for Brazil" promoted by The Brazilian School of Economics - EPGE, FGV/Direito Rio and FGV/IBRE aiming to bring together authorities and experts to discuss the economic, legal and political challenges related to the formulation and implementation of the reform. The opening was conducted by the President of FGV, Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, the Director of FGV/EPGE Professor Rubens Penha Cysne and the Director of FGV/Direito Rio Professor Joaquim Falcão. During the seminar, held at the FGV Cultural Center, the various guests discussed about the technical, macroeconomic and legal aspects related to the subject.

The panels were attended by Professors of EPGE Afonso Arinos de Melo Franco Neto, EBAPE Kaizo Beltrao, FEA-USP Luis Eduardo Alfonso, UCAM Paul Tafner, Direito Rio, Daniel Vargas, the  IPEA Pension Coordinator Marcelo Abi-Ramia Caetano, the Secretary of Economic Policy of Ministry of Finance, Manoel Carlos de Castro Pires, the Director of CCIF, Bernard Appy, the Director of  the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Narlon Gutierre, the Executive Director of Fenasaúde Jose Cechin, the Deputy Director of FGV/IBRE, Vagner Ardeo and the Director of FGV/EPGE Professor Rubens Penha Cysne.
