FGV’s Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (EPGE) organized, in partnership with the University of Bath (UK), the International Seminar on Higher Education called "Higher Education: Perspectives and International Experiences”. The event, held on September 17, addressed topics such as social impact, regulation, quality of higher education, demography, barriers and global ranking, among others.
The dean of EPGE, professor Rubens Penha Cysne, the professor at Bath, Ian Tonks, besides the deputy director of the National Association of Directors of Federal Institutions of Higher Education (Andifes), Anísio Brasileiro de Freitas Dourado, and FGV’s professor, Lindolpho de Carvalho Dias opened the seminar.
The seminar also included the participation of the director of CAPES, Marcio de Castro Silva Filho; the professors Rajani Naidoo, Margaret Greenwood and Jurgen Enders, from the University of Bath; Cecilia Machado, from EPGE; Raquel Guimarães, from UFPR; and the Member of the Technical Evaluation Board of INEP (National Institute for Educational Studies and Research), Renato Augusto Santos; and the CEO of Eleva Educação, Maria Eduarda Falcão. Sandoval Carneiro, Simon Schwartzman and Antonio Freitas, directors of Instituto Vale, IETS and FGV, respectively, were also present as the tables’ moderators.
