Comparing the period between 1980-2016 with the 1900-1980 tendency, it can be concluded that the Brazilian economy started growing less from the beginning of the 80´s onwards. Countless possible causes are indicated in the literature to enlighten this fact. Professor Rubens P Cysne presents the data and some conjectures on the subject, suggesting in-depth econometrics research on the theme to the economics researchers, given that the quantitative evaluation of the importance of the possible factors to the tendency break causers remain open.
